Crystals in urine
Most often, crystals in routine urine sediment preps are without significance. Several different types can be seen in normal samples. A few specific types, however, can be important in certain clinical situations.

Shown at right are struvite crystals (magnesium ammonium phosphate), which are a common finding in urine from normal dogs and cats.
