Internal Medicine Quiz

INTRODUCTION

I hope you find this site helpful in getting a basic review of Internal Medicine. I had put this together while I was at UT-Houston almost two years ago. It has not been until now that I have been able to find a home for it after putting some finishing touches. Currently there are forty questions that offer a broad coverage of this vast field. Though it is in no way a complete review, I do hope that you will find it useful in preparations for the ward experience or the Internal Medicine Board exam.

This site was created using some questions from Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine, and the MKSAP review questions, which were then embellished with images from French's Differential Diagnosis Book, Forbes & Jackson's Color Atlas & Text Of Clinical Medicine with some electrocardiography images from Marriotts Practical Electrocardiography. A few of the questions were based on personal experience. I HIGHLY recommend the above general sources to any student wanting to learn Internal Medicine. I found them to be wonderful resources. I have tried to do a literature search for most of the questions to support the correct answer. I have tried to provide as many of the references as possible for those of you who are interested in checking out the primary sources. However, given the rapidly changing face of medicine, I cannot guarantee that some of this information may not be up-to-date. Please let me know if you come across something that needs to be corrected.

DIRECTIONS

This site is designed to be somewhat interactive. Try to select the right answer and you will get immediate feedback. Once you have legitimately tried to answer the question you may click on the Explanation link for a brief explanation of the right answer.

I hope you enjoy this site and find it useful. I hope not only to answer some questions for you but, more importantly, to also inspire you to look for other answers on your own. Your comments and suggestions are welcomed....

Good luck... and don't forget to check the explanation for each answer.
